A Dharma dancing dakini.

I am a Meditation, Voice and Movement teacher offering  a contemporary and accessible interpretation of ancient teachings. I grew up studying contemporary dance, ballet, ritual theatre, and voice. I have been performing in and leading international retreats and workshops in Canada, France and Israel over the last 30 years. I founded La Caravan Dance Theatre in 2002, producing and choreographing innovative performances and also created the Free Your Natural Voice method. I have been studying under Doug Duncan and Catherine Pawasarat at Clear Sky Meditation Foundation in Canada since 2007.

My approach seeks to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, darkness into hope, uncertainty into vision. I invite you to feel the wonder and joy of this exploration beyond the self.

* I will be offering “Hasidic” circle trance-dance and singing ritual to encore oneself in the power of the group.

In Hasidic Judaism, dance is a tool for expressing joy and is believed to purify the soul, promote spiritual elation and unify the community. It also thought to stimulate joy and therefore to have a therapeutic effect.

What is the significance of the circle dance?

Ranging from gentle to energetic, the dance can be an uplifting group experience or part of a meditation. Being probably the oldest known dance formation, circle dancing is an ancient tradition common to many cultures for marking special occasions, rituals, strengthening community and encouraging togetherness.
